Emma Watson to star in Marilyn Manson musical?

Emma Watson has taken an unlikely role in the Marilyn Manson reworking of Cinderella, according to a newspaper report. The Sun claims that the English rose will team up with goth-rocker Manson for the film, which would be her first movie role outside the Harry Potter franchise. Watson is set to take the lead in the musical, according to the newspaper, which would be a departure from her time at Hogwarts.

Manson will be the producer on the fairytale but it has not yet been revealed whether he will act in or direct the as yet untitled project. Rising star Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Potter franchise, recently revealed to US chat show host David Letterman that she also plans to attend university in America. The other stars of Harry Potter have already branched out into different movies, with Daniel Radcliffe having featured in December Boys and Rupert Grint having appeared in Thunderpants.
