Leona Lewis 'is no longer worried about attacks'
Leona Lewis has revealed that she has managed to overcome her fear of going out in public after being attacked in October. The singer told the Mail on Sunday's Live magazine that although she is more vigilant and aware of her surroundings now than she used to be, she does not want to become over-cautious. ITV fined for I'm A Celebrity rat killing
ITV has been forced to pay a fine in Australia after contestants on the reality TV show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! killed and ate a rat. The RSPCA in Australia took the show's makers to court after Gino D'Acampo, last year's winner, and Stuart Manning killed a rat with a knife because they were hungry. The animal rights charity said the rat suffered unnecessary pain, and took a minute and a half to die. Avatar overtakes Mamma Mia! as highest-grossing UK film of all time
Avatar has become the highest grossing film of all time at the UK box office, surpassing the takings of the Abba-inspired Mamma Mia! Official figures show James Cameron's sci-fi epic has now taken £71.6 million at the UK box office, repeating its success around the world. Jedward miss out on topping UK singles chart
Jedward, the Irish twins from last year's X Factor finals, have failed to reach number one in the official charts with their debut single. John and Edward Grimes, 18, entered the singles chart at number two with their cover of Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby) by Vanilla Ice, according to the Official UK Charts Company. Jazz legend Sir John Dankworth dies aged 82
Sir John Dankworth, a man seen as one of the founders of British jazz music, has died at the age of 82. The 'legend' passed away on Saturday, with his wife the singer Cleo Laine announcing his passing at a concert last night in which she performed with the couple's children. Sir John died at the King Edward VII hospital in London, just hours before his wife and children took to the stage in a performance at The Stables, a venue they had set up together, which marked its 40th anniversary yesterday. Veteran actor Ian Carmichael dies aged 89
The veteran British actor Ian Carmichael, known best for his role as Bertie Wooster in The World of Wooster, has died at the age of 89. His wife Kate confirmed this weekend that the star had died after falling ill over Christmas and the new year. Carmichael passed away at his home in the Esk Valley on the North York Moors, Kate, his second wife, said. Vanilla Ice has expressed his admiration for X Factor twins John and Edward Grimes, stating they have the right attitude to showbusiness. The rap star, who recently teamed with Jedward for their single Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby), told the Sun he finds the pair "endearing" despite their limited singing abilities. He stated that he would not have agreed to work with the Irish duo if he had perceived them to be self-absorbed, adding that he does not agree with the reality TV culture they represent. Man charged with stalking Keira Knightley
A man suspected of stalking the British actress Keira Knightley has been arrested and charged with harassment. Reports claim Marek Daniluk, 41, a Polish national, living in Enfield, was charged with harassment yesterday. Watson hits high on Vanity Fair rich list
Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has topped a list of Hollywood's highest-paid actresses. The 19-year-old star is thought to have made £20 million last year, more than Cameron Diaz, the only other women to make the Vanity Fair rich list. Actress Brittany Murphy died of pneumonia
Actress Brittany Murphy died after taking "multiple" prescription medications, a US coroner has confirmed. The 32-year-old star was found dead in December at her Los Angeles home.
