Nintendo has revealed that Wii Fit Plus, the sequel to its multi-million seller Wii Fit, is coming to the UK on October 30th 2009. The newest instalment of the popular series is to offer a similar gameplay experience to its predecessor, with players using both the Wii Remote controller and Balance Board accessory to perform physical exercises. However, the sequel will expand on the concept with a number of new exercises and a greater range of customisation options, allowing users to create their own strength training and yoga regimes.

iPhone app downloads top two billion iPhone app downloads top two billion

Apple has revealed that iPhone and iPod touch users have driven total downloads from its App Store past the two billion mark. More than half a billion apps have been downloaded by gadget fans in the last quarter alone, with more than 85,000 of the versatile handheld applications now available. The figures are another indicator of the success the iPhone has enjoyed in recent months, with Apple having sold 5.2 million of the touchscreen-based handsets in the third quarter of 2009.

Ultra-stylish Aston Martin had occupied top spot on the UK CoolBrands list for the previous three years, but settled for second this time round as Apple's multi-functional mobile phone took the honours for 2009/10. In fact, Apple dominated the top end of the CoolBrands list, which was compiled by Superbrands from research conducted by The Centre for Brand Analysis.

Competition for generic domain names is set to be rekindled with the forthcoming expansion of the number of generic domain name variants, according to an expert. Traditional website suffixes such as .com and .net are soon to be joined on the market by a host of additional generic domains, such as .food, .music or .hospital. Larger firms are also to be given the chance to register company-specific domain names of their own, such as .amex or .pepsico.

Sony will launch a new motion controller for PS3 PlayStation 3 Motion Controller on the way

Console maker Sony is to play market leader Nintendo at its own game by launching a motion-sensitive controller for the PlayStation 3. The wand-like Motion Controller is a wireless device which works together with the existing PlayStation Eye camera add-on to track the player's hand position and body movements. It also comes equipped with a colour-changing tip and rumble support to give gamers visual and tactile feedback as they play.

Gadget lovers are often drawn to a piece of technology because of its looks and not necessarily its function. Total number of registered domain names continues to rise Domain name registrations continue to increase

Web users across the world have continued to increase the total number of internet domain names in the past months, according to new research. A report published by infrastructure services provider VeriSign has revealed that 184 million top level domain names have been registered as of the second quarter of 2009. This represents an eight per cent increase on the total base of registrations at the same point last year and a one per cent increase on the first quarter.

Spotify Spotify app proves a massive hit

Gadget geeks have been talking about a Spotify app for the Apple iPhone for weeks, if not months. Since its launch on September 7th, it has become the number one download in the Apple app store, which is particularly impressive considering there are more than 75,000 available. T3 has reviewed the app and refers to it as "no less than a joy to use".
