Man accidentally ejects himself from aircraft

An aircraft passenger has escaped unharmed after he blasted himself out of the plane accidentally. A civilian man in South Africa was enjoying a ride with a trained pilot during an air display when the plane went into a particularly steep manoeuvre. The passenger reached for something to hold on to and grabbed a handle situated between his legs.

Unfortunately for him, this was a lever for an ejector seat that activated the rockets on the back of his chair. The man was sent hurtling through the roof of the plane, but luckily, he was equipped with a parachute and managed to make a safe landing back on hard ground. He was not injured during his impromptu solo flight, but air force bosses in South Africa had to send a helicopter to retrieve him after he returned to earth.

This is not the only unfortunate experience that aircraft passengers have faced in the last few days. According to ISNA, an Iranian pilot last week asked passengers to start praying after he was forced to turn the plane back because of technical problems. What's been your worst experience as a passenger?
