Grandmother celebrates driving test success after 949 failures

It was a case of 950th time lucky for South Korean grandmother Cha Sa-soon as she finally passed the first part of her driving test. The 68-year-old decided in 2005 that she needed a car to help her business. However, learning to drive proved to be tougher than she had anticipated and her first attempt at the written part of the test ended in failure.
Ms Cha was not deterred by the setback and showed a great deal of persistence - although sadly, not as much accuracy - in attempting to gain the score of 60 points needed to pass the test. She finally managed it this week after 949 failures and spending more than £2,500 on entry fees, much to the delight of staff at the driving test centre in Jeonbuk. One official told the Korea Times: "She is really famous here. Not only agency employees but even some test takers know her. Her challenging spirit is really amazing."
Ms Cha now needs to pass a practical test before she will be able to obtain her driving licence. If a recent study conducted by Kia is anything to go by she may find that difficult, as the carmaker found that 50 per cent of British drivers would fail their test if they had to resit it. Did you have a driving test disaster?

They allowed her to retake her test that many times than pass her when she just got the pass mark? Wow
