Australian brothers find bag of money while out fishing

Two Australian teenagers have found themselves in possession of A$100,000 (£53,330) after catching more than they bargained for on a fishing trip. The two unnamed brothers found a large bag full of plastic-wrapped cash while visiting a picturesque fishing spot at Tuntable Creek near Lismore, New South Wales. It was a lot more than the boys had hoped to reel in on their angling expedition, leading the pair to spend some time deliberating whether they should keep hold of their "catch".

After taking some legal advice and talking to their mother, they instead opted to hand the money over to the police, who are now investigating whether or not the stash belonged to a criminal. Authorities say the teens may yet see some benefit from their find, however, as they may be able to keep the money if nobody else comes forward with a legitimate claim. The idea of youngsters coming across money was explored in 2004 by the Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle in his movie Millions.

What would you do if you stumbled upon a stash of cash?
