Skydiver survives 6,000ft fall

A British skydiver has survived a 6,000 foot fall down a mountainside after his parachute failed to open. James Boole, a 31-year-old semi-professional skydiver from Staffordshire, told the Sun about how he cheated death on a Russian mountainside. Following a communication problem with another skydiver, the ripcord for his parachute was pulled only seconds before Mr Boole hit the ground and he suffered a broken back, bruised ribs and chipped teeth upon impact.
"I was screaming in pain, coughing up blood. I was very worried I'd got internal injuries and I might be dying. I thought about telling someone my last words," he told the newspaper.
The father-of-one was quickly rescued and taken to a Moscow hospital, where he was put in a body brace and sent home to Tamworth. "People say it all the time, but I feel like the luckiest man in the world," he said. Mr Boole was taking part in the filming of a skydiving documentary in Russia at the time of his accident.
