The film rights to LA Candy, the debut novel by reality TV star Lauren Conrad, have been bought by Temple Hill Entertainment, the executive producers of Twilight. Conrad is to executive produce the adaptation through her Blue Eyed Girl Productions company, Variety reports, with the deal representing a new relationship between popular youth culture brands. While Conrad has become a global star since her move from Orange County to Los Angeles was documented for MTV reality show The Hills - which she has now left after five seasons - Temple Hill have found huge success with their adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight novels, with second instalment New Moon due for release next month.

Primeval to return to ITV1, just three months after being cancelled Primeval to make shock return to ITV1

Adventure series Primeval is to be resurrected on ITV1, just three months after being cancelled. The show was cancelled in June after "three very successful series" but following a deal between ITV and digital broadcaster UKTV, the programme will return for new two series from 2011. Original cast members including Andrew Lee Potts, Jason Flemyng and ex-S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt will return, it has been confirmed, while the prehistoric and fantasy creatures will again be produce by the Framestore CFC special effects team.

Inglourious Basterds complaints not upheld Inglourious Basterds complaints not upheld

Complaints made to the advertising watchdog about the use of an advert to promote Quentin Tarantino's latest film Inglourious Basterds film have been dismissed. Some 21 complaints were made to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) about a poster which featured guns and knives, as well as the use of the word 'basterd'. Universal Pictures told the ASA they did not intend to cause any offence with the campaign, and said the title was deliberately misspelt "to reflect its French setting".

Katie Price has transformed her home into a "shrine" to her former husband Peter Andre, according to a newspaper report. A source has told the Daily Star that Katie, who divorced the singer earlier in the month, has filled their former marital home with pictures and engraved busts of Andre. These mementos are said to be present and visible throughout the entire house, including in the kitchen and bedroom.

The remake of 80s hit Fame has topped the UK box office after its first weekend on release. Kevin Tancharoen's new version of the Alan Parker film, telling of students at a New York performing arts school, overcame heavyweight competition from The Soloist and Creation to claim the UK number one spot with a £2.41 million opening weekend. Animated hit Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs fell one place to second but still outperformed Disney sci-fi film Surrogates.

Actors Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman called a stop to a performance of a Broadway play in which they are starring due to an audience member's ringing mobile phone. Footage of the incident obtained by gossip site TMZ.com shows the Wolverine actor breaking off from a monologue in A Steady Rain to tell the theatregoer: "You wanna get that?" after their phone interrupted his speech. "We can wait, just get the phone," Craig adds, with both actors remaining in character through the interruption.

French authorities appeal to Hillary Clinton for Polanski's release French appeal for Polanski's release

French authorities have appealed to US secretary of state Hillary Clinton for the release of filmmaker Roman Polanski. The 76-year-old was arrested in Switzerland on Sunday in relation over his 1977 conviction for unlawful intercourse with a minor but politicians have come out in support of the Paris-born Polish director. While the Swiss government - which has an extradition agreement with the US - said it had no choice but to enforce an international arrest warrant, the foreign ministers of both France and Poland have written to Mrs Clinton calling for Polanski's release.

The Saturdays have joked that ex-Sugababe Keisha Buchanan should get back together with her original bandmates after leaving the current line-up. Buchanan was controversially replaced in the girl band this month by former Eurovision contestant Jade Ewen, meaning the trio now includes none of the founder members. With Girls Aloud taking a year off and the Sugababes looking to establish their new line-up, the former's label mates the Saturdays could take the girl pop crown.

EastEnders scoops seven prizes at Inside Soap Awards EastEnders wins big at Inside Soap Awards

London soap EastEnders has trumped its Mancunian rival Coronation Street at the Inside Soap Awards. The BBC drama was awarded seven gongs by readers of the TV gossip magazine including Best Soap. Among the individual accolades won by EastEnders was Best Actress for Lacey Turner, who plays troubled Stacey Slater on the show, while Charlie Brooks was named Best Bitch for playing the scheming Janine Butcher.

Thom Yorke recruits Flea as unlikely bassist for solo band Thom Yorke signs Flea for solo band

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has recruited an unlikely bassist for his solo band - the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea. Yorke is to play two live shows in Los Angeles next month and has signed up legendary bass player Flea to join him for onstage renditions for tracks from his The Eraser album and other solo efforts. In a post on Radiohead's blog, Yorke confirmed the live band for the Orpheum Theatre shows consisted of himself, Flea, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, percussionist/multi-instrumentalist Mauro Refosco and Beck/REM drummer Joey Waronker.
